The i8 NITECORE is an intelligent charger and makes using the charger extremely simple. Get started put one battery, or up to eight of your batteries into the charging bay and keep an eye on the lights. A red light indicates that charging is taking place. A green light tells you that your batteries are fully charged and ready for use. 

The i8 charger also has more than 5 automatic safety features built in such as reverse polarity and short-circuiting protection. For example if by mistake you put your batteries in wrong or upside down, this would be a very dangerous situation if using a cheap Basic charger and sparks and or fire will likely occur.  But with the NITECORE I8 charger, it would simply flash a red indicator letting you know that you've made a mistake.
